Sherawat was born as Reema Lamba to a Jat family in the small village in the Hisar district of Haryana. Mallika was born on October 24, 1976 to Mukesh Kumar Lamba and Mrs.Lamba. Her mother’s given name is “Sherawat.” Because of the support her mother has given her, she has mentioned that she uses her mother’s maiden name.

Mallika Sherawat appeared in television commercials for BPL and Santro with Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan before breaking into the film industry. She also featured in Nirmal Pandey’s “Maar Dala” and Surjit Bindrakhia’s “Lak Tunoo” music video.She made her film début in Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, where she played a minor role and was given the name Reema Lamba.
Sherawat gained attention when she appeared in the 2003 movie Khwahish. She appeared in the 2004 movie Murder, which was modeled after Unfaithful in Hollywood.
